Audio post production happens after the on screen action has been finalised and the audio has been locked to the picture. This is so that there is no possible way for the audio to come out of sync. We won’t take a project from you for post production until all visual edits have been completed. Dialogue is the most important aspect for a listener, and therefore is the most integral part of the post production process. We do our absolute best to select the best takes, clean and edit everything and remove background distractions using industry leading tools from iZotope. Then levels are considered to ensure consistency before any mixing commences.
Ideally dialogue would always be tracked in an acoustically treated studio. However we understand fully that often this is not possible due to budgetary or time restrictions. Although, of course, a better recording helps lead towards a better end product, don’t worry if your recording has:
Background noises, low-frequency rumbles, hum or hiss
Pops, crackles, spikes or clipping
Recordings that already contain natural reverb
Try to avoid all these things, but don’t worry as our industry standard audio restoration software will take care of all this.
